Question for you: what do you know of the rules of inter-species fertility among sapient races? Who is compatible, under what circumstances, what results, what influences things, etc.?

Possible high risk, high-reward line of questioning: 'I've heard old tales of your species culture, mostly about other tribes, so I don't know if it's true. Is it true that you separate 'female-gender-role' from 'having-female-sexual-bits' for, uh, 'non-people'? And that mating with 'female-gender-people' is how you turn 'non-people' into 'half-people', a sort of higher class? Or is that something only the males of your species do? I'm confused with the details! I admit, I ask because I find you appealing! Is it taboo for one like you to mate with a male-sexual-bits non-person in your first heat? Or is it the act of having a child with one, but not, say, the sorts of sex that don't produce progeny, that's taboo? Something else? How does any of this work? Like, I heard a tale you value virgins more or something like that?'

And if pressed on how you know this, you'd answer 'Other tribes of your species used to sometimes send your enslaved 'half-people' to talk the young and horny of other species into joining their tribes sort-of willingly, with stories of living lives full of limitless sexual hedonism and debauchery, and with no responsibilities of note. Needless to say, such tales, of course, spread like wildfire! I presume important details are left out or exaggerated or lost; the tales are old. I just don't know where or what.'

Now... the problem with this is twofold. ONE, you are giving out a lot of information, and admitting limits to your knowledge, in the hopes of getting information back. This isn't precisely 'leave them open to gloat about a topic'. TWO, this story is extrapolated from patterns

Also, the females tend to be smarter than the males in this species, except when the females are having their heat. They still might remember things that happened during their heat when their mind clears, though. Also, much of my information from previously is from male 'culture', such as it is. And as such, one should remember that details of male culture are things that the matriarchs could override the importance of when given a chance to run things.

You could ask her if she isn't good at the physical tasks of her gender, surely there's another sort of task that she might excel at? Not knowing what's going on around you is just one sort of thought -- surely there's another type of more mental skill she could do?

IE, you're hinting at her options to learn female, 'use up corpses to power destructive spells' magic, or to learn more intellectual pursuits of the nonpeople to help her clan.
>>
No. 1089413 ID: dd3fe0

Also, ask her, flat out, how do you become a half person, and what exactly is a half person. Maybe even ask her, can she sponsor or make you a half-person?

In general, your objective is to a.) become a half-person, and b.) become a half-person that is specifically claimed as the sole property of someone reasonable. and c.) not have your mind destroyed in becoming a half-person!

Now, we know that males can take 'claim-mate' of people they fancy to be their fucktoys. We know males of this species are unreasonable as fuck. We know females *can* be reasonable and sane (though that varies). We don't know if females can have claim-mates, nor details of how females treat males of other species under their power in general. These things are VITAL to learn!

You need protection by someone sufficiently clever to reason with and who won't destroy your mind permanently as a matter of course or a general precaution!

Also, general note, the racial gifts -- strength, endurance, mass/size, durability, the ability to be stealthy despite being bright blue, the various magical gifts of this species are so ludicrously strong that a collection of morons of this species made absolute chaos of several large, organized, technologically and magically sophisticated groups in a matter of days! One might take the viewpoint that intentionally mixing some bloodlines might be a good idea. Maybe the males being stupid goes away if one is 1/4th Gormoamhi, but leaves the magic?

Though the magic and that drug and learning how to mindbreak people into a 'slave mindset' via edging them while they're drugged has totally fucked up their culture, to be sure. But I think sex with Gormoamhi males might have some odd mental effect in general, even without the drug? Otherwise getting people --of different species, even!-- reliably to the 'slave mindset' end wouldn't be possible, magic drugs or n

Alright, you're throwing names at me after the first one didn't work. How do I know all these other names will?

As for-what'd you say? Inter-something something fertility? All I know is cause I'm a Rezan I gotta be careful. And I guess I'm pretty boring cause the Great Pervert in the Sky didn't drop a baby in my lap yet! But if you mean that I can knock up this Gormoamhi girl. I dunno. Yes? I guess?

She finally took my underwear off. I was wondering if she forgot about that. But I don't think she's listening. I'll try again.

:iagn2:"Hey is it taboo for one like you to mate with a non-person in your first heat?"

"It is very forbidden! But that's what makes it so good..."

She pushed me against a rock, and is licking her-oh. Oh I don't think she's listening.

A Sci-Fi Mystery Quest about Ethics, Loss and Finding Oneself

You're trying to get used to this face of yours; to the artificiality of it, the familiarity and the sadness it invokes. You imagine it will take time. Your captors helpfully reinstalled the mirror above your sink but you're starting to understand why you might have taken it down in the first place. Before the amnesia.

With this face comes a name: Disquiet-247. Disq for short, you've decided. A familiar name, but devoid of context like so much in your life right now.

You still have so many questions. Shyama put his foot down though. Said you clearly needed a break. Maybe he's right. Maybe this is a good time to collect your thoughts.

> I'm not sure if I'd call it a 'Cold War' as you did, though. It's true that our member territories and the Dacian Sultanate aren't directly threatened with military action, just about everywhere else is consumed by war.

Nope, that's... pretty much exactly what happened in your historic cold war. Proxy wars were f-cking everywhere, all in the name of preventing $thoseotherguys from spreading.

You'll help them but it's true. This 'precarious stalemate' isn't the biggest danger to the world right now. Nukes can't be used without massive popular backlash on either side because they're just that bad, and the rich fucks causing your wars can't extract rent out of a bunch of corpses. The biggest danger is that you've forgotten something very important you need to do, and until they know what it is, they can only assume it'll erase all of existence if you don't take care of it.

Both your task, and their spy efforts require you to remember though. So:

1. make sure what you're forgetting isn't a "history eraser" button
2. help them spy on the commies

Can you remember some kind of microscopic cameras? Video transmission without the use of radio waves? And really, what on Luna is that important thing you have to do?

Big issue I see is that spy tech won't really solve this issue. If their enemies feel like they're now at a definitive disadvantage they may just decide to go nuclear.

The thing is, once one side has an advantage, they don't have to press it. They can open negotiations and use their advantage to gain reasonable concessions without risking nuclear war. They can't gain total victory, sure, but they can get a good outcome nevertheless.

Well nothing helps erode a regime's power from the inside like information technology, but that would be rather long term to implement.
>>
No. 1090429 ID: def3bb

Alright, so there's several issues here. Assuming your tech level is roughly equivalent to my timeline and calendar's 1969-ish, you are in an incredibly awkward position, technologically, vis a vis 'useful things I can give you in a timeframe of weeks to months'. There is a ton of useful technology I could help you develop, really game-changing stuff, but most of it is either, itself 'a form of infrastructure' or something that requires a massive, pre-existing web of related industry and infrastructure.

Of course I could help you develop that, but that is still in the 'years to decades' range. Examples exist from all over different sorts of technology; like if you put me in charge of microchip and computer engineering and software development at your largest institution for that, I could shave decades off of development to get you to the point of having, say, neural network based generative artificial intelligence. Or, put me in charge of some sort of space and satellite command, and I could help you develop a Global Positioning System, with massive economic, social, and military benefits, and associated satellite based telecommunications and weather monitoring technology. I could even, along with microprocessor and microchip development, help you build an Internet, a network of digital networks, which is likely the next big civilization-defining infrastructure development. But, again, years to decades!

Associated with satellite monitoring, there's climate data and models that contributed to nuclear dearmament in my timeline, stuff that helped project a potential large scale worldwide agricultural collapse and mass starvation and existential risk to humanity due to that after a large nuclear exchange due to the onset of nuclear winter. This contributed to various treaties and nuclear dearmament and de-escalation policies. So that's a thing to be aware of as well.

Or, for direct

Given Merud's goal is golem sentience I think we should go for elite golem rather than Golem army.
>>
No. 1090247 ID: a7a180

From a dungeon perspective, raising more copies of golems is incredible.
-Triage a golem and then copy it to make two or more fixed golems from two broken ones.
-More workers for any project of his, and of course more minions in a fight.
-Double the power of golem bosses.
-Double Deems… your duplicate body could be studied in more detail without damaging the original.

Those are all huge force multipliers, Merud would be improving his raw talent and capacity for golemetry. But amalgam… As a researcher, amalgam is something new and unique for Merud to experiment with. The results aren’t reproducible by his peers yet unfortunately, but maybe he’ll work something out. Or perhaps that’s because he would be peerless. There are upsides, I just don’t see them providing as many benefits at once.
-a note of caution: would anything amalgamated with Centaur actually be able to de-fuse?

-The handy Hin-hammer: Pocket golem!
-Infusing the stonebush into the woody brute - would this fusion of plant and stone behave differently from ordinary rock?
-Gazeggs: grant a magic golem powerful eldritch abilities. Presumably without using up the eggs.
-Fusing the cauldron golem with a hat golem: uh, larger cauldron storage capacity? Could use the spatially warped cauldron as an extra potion bath.
-Homunculus golem fused with flesh - golems made from flesh are harder to animate, does this bypass that limitation? Though, hmm, where are we going to get a bit of spare flesh. …Oh! Stargazer left a bunch lying around.
-Pancake can be fused with spare metal to make an extra secure door, or a very heavy crushing trap.

Despite some of you being complete strangers, you've all been seated together at a restaurant in Nexus, due to the law against dining alone after sundown. Some guy tried to sell you a memory crystal containing a treasure map.
A pretty lady at another table (who turned out to be dragon-blooded) bought him a drink (which turned out to contain yozi venom) and then, while he was dying, grabbed the crystal and ran off. Might want to be out of town before her employer realizes that one of you actually managed to boot it up first, and got a pretty good look at the map.
Site's over a thousand miles away, but most of that would be river travel, and there's an underground manse, so it should be easy enough to zero in on with geomantic surveying tools even if the map, or your memory or navigational skills, end up a few miles off-target.
If somebody's willing to pay for yozi venom (which is not cheap!) to cover it up, gotta be something seriously valuable out there.

Destination is ~800 mi southeast of Nexus as the crow flies, and half that far north-northeast of the ruins of Denandsor, right in the middle of rocky uplands between the headwaters of the Rolling River and a minor tributary of the Grey River.
So, you could take a more direct route up the Grey, but then face a longer trek overland,
or start by going up the Yellow past Great Forks and then turn south along the Rolling.
Or try something more complicated, to take advantage of esoteric travel options and/or throw off potential pursuit.

> I can only do one at a time
When there are multiple rolled actions you want to specify with a single post, just roll 50+ dice and I'll figure out which ones go to which dice pool. Erring on the side of too many dice also saves hassle if there are bonuses you overlooked, such as stunts, or the +1 circumstantial bonus die to Perception + Awareness for being fully focused on guard duty.
Figuring out exact dice pools before rolling is more important on discord, because the dice bot there sorts the results from lowest to highest rather than reporting them in the order they were rolled.

Another experience in favor of clocking anyone wearing a mask on sight. Defend yourself, and clobber this cook. Might as well let that "patient" free when you're done up here, but you can't stick around. You've got wood to find and burn.

“The BARK FUNGUS is the main thing I need. It’s also the hardest to find, since it doesn’t grow in large chunks. You can leave that stuff to me, though. You just focus on the rest of the stuff on the list.
You can find BLOOMS just about everywhere.
I marked a good spot to find MUSHROOMS on your MAP—but there are a few poison TURTS that live in that area too, so be careful.
BERRIES grow near the river bed."

Alia stresses that she needs to finish the recipe she’s working on tomorrow morning, so she’d like to have all the ingredients ready tonight. She’s marked her CAMP on the MAP she gave you. You can go there whenever you want to rest for the night, even if you don’t have everything on the list—but the more you do have, the happier she’ll be.
Are you ready to begin foraging? Or do you have questions for Alia before you leave?

Heading to the mushroom patch, then going north along the river should let you get all the ingredients and end on the campsite.

Ask
What shes making?
Will she make sure lil balboa gets a good loving home if i die out there?
Does she have a cool turt of her own?

Then boldly head out into the dark.
Dont let anyone see your fear.
Except lil balboa.
He knows your heart anyway.

Head for the river.
Maybe the poison turts will be asleep the later you leave it.

I think ROCK doesn't resits poison outright, but some ROCK TURTS with the TIGHT SHELL are immune to getting poisoned. That's what my friend told me, anyway, and I have no clue if that applies to Li'l Balboa.

We've seen some of the mushrooms before, I think, so we know those, and don't have to be afraid. But as a first step towards TURT MASTERY, it's probably a good idea to ask how you can work with Li'l Balboa, and make sure that you know how to train our new TURT without courting undue danger.

Clark IV, a world under fire.

The Interstellar Transit Authority currently holds the planet under martial law. The planet has seen a turbulent past century, guerilla fighters have been holding it hard and there has been no progress in taking hold.

Mercenary companies have been brought in to step in as a force multiplier, but they are beholden to no one but whoever pays the most.

Corporate entities have also begun to set their eyes on the planet below.

It is hell.

>Add "Assist Doxy with the Wroknir Integration project" to the list.
While it would be interesting to join her endeavors, sadly we do not have a female Wroknir on board.

Leaving the engineers to their tasks, you make your way across the hangar towards where those cryopod inhabitants you rescued are being are being thawed. There you find your clone Tara (long story) working hard at introducing the new recruits to both your current situation, as well to her Union she’s running.

Tara: “Captain.” the green Sakkilian salutes you, a gesture that’s copied by less than half of the people behind her, even less doing it properly, “The new recruits are all been introduced and accounted for, sir.”
Zento: “Good work, Ensign Tara.” you salute her back, “Anything I need to know?”
Tara: “Only about a third of the people we rescued are military personnel, sir, and all Ensign rank at that.” gesturing behind her, she continues, “The rest are civilians, meant to stay in cold storage until the colonies were functional.” She then takes a moment to point at the small insignia on her neck, “Oh, and its Union Representative Tara now, sir.”
Zento: “Of course, Rep. Tara.” you look away in an attempt to hide your eye roll, “As for the civilians?”
Tara: “A very diverse bunch sir.” picking up her data slate, she starts to flip through it, “Some of them wish to join the crew, while others want to return to cold storage until the colony is properly constructed, and some simply want to hitch a ride for the time being. There’s also several that wish to be left on whatever planetary colony we visit next… oh, and one of them requested to be given a ship so they can fly away on their own.”
Zento: “I see…”
Tara: “So what are you orders, sir?”

Anyone who stays on board has to work. I'm sure there are some tasks which we can give them? Cooking duty perhaps? Oh maybe some of the civs have mundane skills like that?
The ones who want to go back to sleep can do so, though they should be informed that we have no current plans on starting a colony; this is effectively hostile territory. We can't even drop them off on alien planets because our presence here has to remain a secret for as long as possible.
The one who wants a ship can be told fuck no, no freebies. If they want a ship they have to work hard enough to earn one.

>“Those thighs could absolutely crush my head like a melon.”
Silly captain, you can't make more cyborgs that way. Not that it wouldn't be fun to try.

One last note: Keep in mind the possibility the main fleet might have awakened before you. Maybe the brass was less hush-hush and more "did what they had to do to survive". What that would imply is only speculation at this point.

>>1090357
Considering how limited we are in trained officers at the moment, our next best option is to find the skilled among the civilians. That means building incentives for them to stay "awake" to work here, even if at the risk of becoming more pleasure cruiser than science vessel.

Ideally, we'd build out our ship to be a proper self-sufficient colony. Have the colony come to the civilians, instead. Ikekeki should have experience with living like that. Ask about it when you see her.

There is always sending them to work in the Vul colony, but you don't know how well they can handle or will treat colonists of different species. You can only inspect that for yourself when you'll get there.

On a related matter, she formally has the go ahead to build out a day care, should we have the resources for it. Having a place for children on board is like something you may have read about Spartans once. Parents working harder and defending their home to the death are what come to mind. Doubt that's exactly what she meant by she suggested it, though.

Ehhhh, hypothetically, 'seeds' for cybernetics could go 'along with' the egg, and replicate as the fetus grows, and build and mature as the baby and then child grow up, with their augmentations growing in throughout puberty, as it were. That said, the tech base that favored THAT paradigm for reproduction wouldn't tend to make cyborgs that look like this, things would be much more integrated, all the 'mechanical' and 'organic' parts having all grown together according to some plan.
>>
No. 1090410 ID: 5ebd37

We can give a free ride to the next colony, but after that they'll need to pull their weight. As for getting a ship, yes but not for free. They'll have to work for it, but they also get to have it made to their specifications (within reason)

I stay underground. I doubt George, as a ranger in a small town, knew how to read and write before joining the adventurers, and it is unlikely he had much time to study while they pursued the army. I keep my awareness on him so that I know if he goes to the lord or tries to attack Erogalf.

I would like to make contact with the kobolds, and I wait for one to send a bucket down to skim the cleaner water off the top of the layers of scum in my well to wrap myself around the rope. I am lifted into the light and dismount on the stone to face the startled kobold who pulled me up.

“Greetings kobold. I am Pliny the spirit and led your kind here after you fled from Jamuk.” I say.

“Do you have any more money?” the kobold asks hopefully.

“I do not. How have you fared since coming here?”

The kobold explains that the lord was upset at first but agreed to let the refugees stay as long as they give him a portion of the wheat they harvest from the northern fields. The situation is stable, though the kobolds aren’t living in good conditions and quite a few are ill.

“Your coins have helped us buy goods from the other townspeople. We heard that you defeated the army’s spirit and slew hundreds of their soldiers!” The kobold’s eyes sparkle. “Is there something you need?”
>>

We're going to need to spin this carefully. And we're going to need to be double careful not to use phrases that would upset Jam. A bit of a juggling act.

"I am sad to hear that your conditions are not good, and that the lord has kept better aid from those who need it. I think it would be very good if we could distribute the resources to those who need it, but the lord has forbidden me from interfering in governance. It seems that he dislikes those who are different." Prime them with the fact that the lord is in the way of getting their people the help they need, because he is racist.

"I went behind his back, however, because despite my power I cannot protect everyone forever. I was able to leverage my prowess to negotiate a treaty to stop the war from harming Pliny again after the fall of Jamuk. However, the lord will not simply leave Pliny under the guidance of a spirit, and I fear he will lead the citizens into more bloodshed. What do you think I should do?" Gauge what the kobold thinks is best, while probing to see if any of their ideas match what you already want to do. If they do, it will seem like the kobold's idea, and be more easily accepted.

*Corax ignores her questions*
Hmm... So it's just good old fashioned grooming and social conditioning.

I ask you this with all sincerity, have you ever had an original thought of your own? As a young... individual, did you even have to think for yourself? Question anything Happy taught you? Were you even allowed to do so?

There is a massive flaw in Happy's logic and I don't know if even you can answer this next question. Happy was the one who MADE you and conditioned you to hate the Tribunal based on how you were born. He made you as something the tribunal would have seen as dangerous and so set your expectations as such. But what kind of father specifically makes his daughter in such a way that they would be BORN to be a target? Was it just not possible for him to make you any other way?

Inner thoughts:The way she is making him seem is little more than a warlord using child soldiers.

I will answer your questions ONLY if you agree to turn evidence and join us against Happy. You can start with this, where is Happy now?

Inner thoughts to Peregrine: I know you probably can't answer this given your lack of memories that were removed. But do you know if Happy have the same abilities to do that? Remove whole memories from someone? Secondly, that gap in your memory, you know that your mind has been tampered with but if someone didn't know their mind and memories erased, would there by any trace of it left? Some kind of imprint based on who did it or what was was taken?

>Ok, try another glass of milk but instead set the dial to 6.

You stick another glass of milk in and set the dial to 6 (not 7).

After some slightly unnerving rumbling, you open the Echo Chamber to reveal some grass?
It seems to be still living, though doubtless it won’t be for long.

Glass of Milk →→→→→→ Grass

All tasks complete. 6 ʁ earned. Return UPSTAIRS to begin the night.

>Try again on another glass of milk with it set to 1.

Yet another glass of milk goes into the box.
You could say it came out untouched, but it really didn’t. It’s still a glass of milk, but it’s slightly different now. The glass is a different shape and the milk has a sort of different consistency or something. You don’t know, you’re not very fond of milk.

Glass of Milk → Glass of Milk

I think this means it’s multiplicative, though you’re not sure how a glass of milk ever multiplies into grass.

:kpwlt_gretchen: “What’re you trying to make?”
>>
No. 1090369 ID: 8f9bc4

I suppose the dial indicates degrees of separation? 1 would exchange a glass of milk for a different glass of milk, while 3 makes a jug of milk, similar, and 6 makes a fistful of grass, far removed.

The echo chamber makes things? You were just testing it, to see how it functioned. Ask Gretchen if she wants to echo chamber anything, before heading home for the evening (because apparently it's become quite late?)
>>
No. 1090376 ID: 18ae7d

Further testing required (when not hosting guests) but we can rule out the echo chamber simply making more of whatever substance is in it. Actually this makes sense, if it is about echoing further and further back through an item's history. If that is true then one of the settings between 3 and 6 should turn milk into cow (maybe don't test that right now)

All that to say, I don't think your going to get a non-milk drink out of it. Ask Gretchen if she would like a go at it.
>>
No. 1090391 ID: 273c18

>>1090367
Glass->grass. It changed the letter. Looks like the dial determines how similar the resulting object is(similar to a certain SCP). Try 4 or 5 to see if you can get a different drink out of it without turning it into something inedible.

Tell her you're just experimenting. Why, is there a way to get specific things? You'd like a different drink.

Im more worried about the potential effect of surviving snails on crops.
The initial hut of the hail will be bad but its the persisting potential for damage that makes it worse than normal hail.
Snails are little sods.
They can be voracious little marauders if left unchecked and even if dealt with perfectly, are certain to cause damage before being brought under control.

Beer traps work well, but nothing is 100% effective.
Plus without harvested crops and a brewery, beer isnt going to be plentiful enough to use yet.

Im still glad everyone seems to be plugging for the snail hail despite all this.
Its a great concept.

Wait, this is an easy one to counter.
Salt the earth.
Now, when they land, they won't be able to run from the acid floor. You can pick them up off the ground and the salt will act as a preservative and seasoning, giving you a steady supply of preserved rations until you can get your farms restarted.

Murdoc: "It's flush with the ground, recessed about a foot down even. Everything that was above it was dropped in when it opened, and we piled it up on Jormun. So far no animals have been stupid enough to fall in, though they don't seem to fear getting near it either."

But this forest seems like it gets a lot of rainfall, and there's gray clouds drawing near. I'd say some simple collectors will suffice for now."

Charm Creature only affect their perception of Tanna, not Mina. She need to be alone to use it effectively.
It might be useful on Evel’yee. If Vax is really slow on the uptake he will take longer to realize Tanna betray them, so altering the perception of the person who would notice first could delay any aggression toward Mina. (I say that but I'm not sure it's the right move.)

I believe Grease will be very effective against Vax. Less so on Evel’yee, even so it would still be an extra challenge. It's an area of effect, so could you aim at the two without affecting Mina? (That sound like a reasonable first move.)

One thing we need to consider is the sound you need to make when casting your own spells. It might be better to begin with a scroll to avoid detection.
For this I would suggest Scroll of Paralyze on Vax. If she doesn't escape in time Evel’yee can be subdue with brute force or Charm Creature if we fail to catch her. In case this work without a hitch Mina can try Protection from Evil on Vax after Evel’yee is defeated and before the paralyses worn off. (This is my preferred plan.)

Trying to think of leaving does something weird to your head due to the blatantly visible compulsion to 'Get The Box' that we see on you. At least that's a workable compulsion, LOTS of room for interpretation there! It doesn't say to directly touch the box, it doesn't say what to do with the box once you 'get it', it leaves the specifics of what it means to 'get' open to interpretation, it doesn't have anything to say about what precautions you take, whether you can share with others that you are under a mind affecting compulsion, etc. etc. It's also way weaker than Jacob's compulsions to open the box. Oh! Fun factoid, in my language, the word 'Geas' looks like it is pronounced 'Gee-us' but is actually pronounced "Gesh".

Anyway, there's a BUNCH of types of mental compulsions out there, and not all of them are a full-on Geas, so let's not assume specific and detailed features about the nature of a compulsion based on anything other than what we can actually observe (ie, like how we can observe yours has less of a push than Jacob's).

Hmmm. If we are super unanimous on encouraging you to do something and a lot of us are pushing it, you might find that tricky to resist. I personally promise not to abuse that, and to call out bad actors, preventing harmful consensus scenarios.

Wow, old you knew her poisons! Pity there aren't more nonlethal poisons here, that is really a quite effective use-case, you know, having a debilitating effect, something fundamentally different than the sort of thing one can also achieve with a sword in someone's gut.

Grease is also a useful combat spell. The Paralsis bit is useful too. How confident are you in turning a final lethal blow into a nonlethal one? Like if you think you are getting a last good hit in, you pommel strike instead of edge strike and knock them out? How about

> Wouldn’t a Geas be detectable though?

Heck if I know! Might be a good thing to inquire about. Maybe there's a kind of god-magic outside the weave?

> Artifact sure is a scary way of describing the box…

Oh the box probably isn't an artifact. But what's in the box? Does it terrify you what could be in that box, making people kill to release it? Yeah, artifacts are terrifying.

> I definitely didn’t see anything like that.

Then it's a good thing Whisper sent us, because we're detecting Geas-like effects where even seeing the Weave falls short. Oddly, he didn't send us for that purpose. He just sent us because you were going to die, and he wanted to save your life for some wager of his.

> it really is that bad.

Don't worry Tanna, we're going to get the box, and we're going to get you safe. Whatever you have to do, we'll deal with it as it comes.

Agreed with the other winds.

Evalee is the prime target.
Im torn on paralysing her or charm.
If charm, then presuming it takes tell her "help me take down the lizard and we can open the box together."
Charm works best when the requests you make still essentially align with the demeanour and aims of the target. If the idea fits smoothly with them, itll slide right in. If its against their nature, itll be jarring and maybe resisted.
They have a fractious relationship, its a goal she'd approve of and you can then get her to lead the way, giving you a chance to backstrike her with the debilitating poison.

Maybe cast through the crack in the door, if that puts you out of the silence zone.
Buy some seconds of confusion to get the jump on the lizardman.

The good news is if it comes to violence you are well equipped to heal your and their injuries, all the same thats the last and least favorable option.

I don’t think I can handle Trisha right now, not after failing the crowd. I don’t want her to shove a soda into my hand and insist I smile a big toothy grin for the camera. What I want to do is go out and celebrate my win. I can’t spend yet another evening after the event locked inside a doctor’s office! I deserve to feel good!

In fact, the only thing that feels good right now is the memory of getting to deliver swift justice straight into Tsuki’s midsection. After what the WAN did to Marv? She’s lucky I didn’t do worse! I’m a spring-loaded, high-flying Luchadora and everyone should be afraid of getting on my bad side. Don’t mess with me or mis amigos, or you’ll regret it no matter who you are: the WAN or the Wendigo!

I wonder if Felipe or Chestnut were watching my match. What would they think if they knew they were friends with a superstar Luchadora like me? They’d be starry-eyed and cheer for me! But I didn’t hear any cheering in the audience. That means they weren’t there. I mean, I didn’t invite them, because I have a secret identity and don’t want them to be too overwhelmed by my star power, but… I still miss them.

Step five: trust my friends, and they’ll trust me.

I wish they’d come. I wish they’d cheered.

Felipe and Chestnut might not be here for me, but I can be there for Marv. Maybe feeling good can wait.

I demand a security guard to drive me over to the local medical facility, and he wisely gets me there in record time. Marv is lying on the bed, his eyes open and a bit glassy. Rose tells me the doctors are going to keep him for observation; he’s taken a hard, hard hit right to the back of his skull. Once we’re alone, she whispers that he’ll never wrestle again.

Is this what I have to be prepared for? Underhanded, sneaky cheaters working with demonic, violent brutes leading to career

With Nacha cast-ing off her restraints, there’s nothing to hold her back from leaping skyward and bringing the Ohio crowd to its feet in cheers for true Lucha Libre. But if she flies so close to the sun, she’d better be careful to not get burned…

Offer to turn the dice game into a drinking game.
If you win on your rolls, the other players have to take a shot.
If you lose, you have to take two.

Keep the fun going and the excitement of the dice rolling but turn the stakes into something everyone enjoys.

Until the hangover.
Or the inevitable drunken switch to strip craps.
